I will not buy one. I think they made a big mistake removing TouchID and adding FaceID. They should have done both for a transition period, and I'm sure Jony Ive probably had a play in it not being both... his designs have never been in favor of usability over look. Also, the notch in the screen looks silly to me... I'd rather have the black bar across the whole screen. What value is there to expand the screen by that amount and then black out 60% of it?

They really messed up that part imo. I can't find the mockup right now, but someone showed your proposal, but with the time and status icons in white in the black space next to the notch. That would have looked perfect. The current solution looks dreadful.

Uhm, please explain the FaceID fiasco then. Didn't exactly come off as bugs been worked out.

But I do get what you are saying, and to me, though I could be wrong, it illustrates the difference between a CEO that is a visionary and one that is a Master of Logistics.

If you mean the fail when he tried to unlock the iPhone with face recognition, that's because iOS when you turn on the phone wants you to insert the pin in any case before accessing in any other way.
    Which I frankly find a nonsense. -.-

You may not see it that way when your other half uses your face while you're sleeping so they can access your phone? They may not be too impressed when they discover how much time you spend on your passion for all things tech.

Except the message displayed when it failed wasn't the reboot pin message, it was the failed message.

It said: "enter passcode - your passcode is required to enable face id".
Which is exactly what you get when you turn on an iphone before being able to use touch id.

No, I am not gone a buy this new iPhone, Its too expensive.

I would prefer to go with other low range phones from Samsung.

I found one of those user-enhanced UI versions. The one on the left is what Apple went with. The one on the right is what a sane internet user came up with. I vastly prefer the non-Apple version.
