Apple just announced the smaller sibling of the 1st gen iPad pro.

    For comparison:
9.7" iPad Pro with 128GB and pencil: $850
12.3" Surface Pro m3 with 128GB and pen: $900 before student discount, $810 after student discount.
12.9" iPad Pro with 128GB and pencil: $1050

    Gadgets are expensive!

To be fair the Sp4 has been out for a while and can get a bundle with the keyboard for $900 now, I would think.

I know, there's also a current deal for an i5 SP4 for $900. Still, all these are quite up there for those looking for a thin and light notepad.

The MateBook looks like a pretty slick alternative and is $750 for an m3 128GB with pen, but I'm not a huge fan of the laser pointer frankenpen.

I was really hoping the 32GB model would have had a $499 price point. Once you add the pencil and sales tax you're nearing $800. I was gonna take the plunge....but now I'm starting to contemplate holding out for a apple pencil compatible Ipad Mini should one ever get released.

The next time I buy a 7.1 surround system I'm going to face the speakers away from me! True story.

I hope that apple releases an Air 3 otherwise all I see is an update, with fluff, to increase the price. We're FALLING for it.

Camera bump is disappointing, who wants a canvas that wobbles?

In other bad news, apparently the new iPad Pro doesn't support USB3 speed, only USB2. Either way it's too pricey for my liking.

$100 upcharge Apple Pencil support BEFORE $100 for the Pencil itself? Greedy mofos...

BTW, I don't know why you guys insist on only using m3 SP4 as a cheaper thin and light options out there. HP Pavilion X2 12 M3/128GB SSD is only $569 with keyboard dock at HP.com and is a Wacom AES device. The tablet itself is only 1.6 lbs for a 12" screen.
