Finally found an 11" review and really doesn't look bad:

I do wonder how well this works on a seatback tray:

Note: if you want to use your $300 magic keyboard as a stand, the keyboard will always be sticking out way to the front. On the upside, unlike the Surface Pro, this one won’t fall off the back of the tray when typing. Ironically, this will make the iPad Pro better for working on the plane, and the Surface Pro better for watching movies on the plane! :D

Thought you might like to look at the key layout of the 11" vs 12.9" - key shrinkage on left and right (sorry I couldn't find same size examples because the 12.9 is on bottom and has more full size keys):

at least until you hit turbulence.........the magnetic connection looks stable enough in the video....but the ease you can take it off looks like it wouldn't fare well with abrupt sudden movement disruptions.

We'll see. I suspect it'll be fine. From the looks of it, a significant part of taking it off is applying torque, i.e. rotating the iPad away from the stand. Thankfully that's a motion that planes don't tend to make. :) But fair enough, it could be an issue. I guess we'll have to wait for an iPad user on a bumpy flight. Which in this new world might take a while.

Unrelated, I wonder if you could place the whole thing on its back with the keyboard sticking in the air, for a very inelegant way to watch video on a seat back tray. Like this:

I had the same thought for note taking.

I guess it depends on how much resistance that upper hinge has going in reverse (i.e. closing).
Dieter Bohn had the same idea, joking that "The drawing mode is perfect for Dungeon Masters: built in DM screen!":

In that above photo you can really see how their balancing solution (i.e. making the iPad "float" above the keyboard) directly leads to a shorter keyboard deck, which in turn leads to a very short trackpad on the bottom and eliminates the space on top where the Fn row (and Esc key) would otherwise be.

It would require some getting used to....but could be an interesting way to take advantage of keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop and Clip Studio.
