<<...you can install IOS 13 is in public beta...>>

...I've stopped doing public betas except on my one test TPC.

I can wait until the first official release. Besides, I need to "relearn" iPad...

some early impressions of the new iPad keyboard:

    https://9to5mac.com/2020/04/18/magic-keyboard-ipad-hands-on/amp/

    Main takeaways:
    - nice, backlit, good key travel
    - bit heavy (600g for 11")
    - limited angles (doesn't go far back)
    - doesn't fold behind tablet

The weight brings the 11" iPad plus keyboard to 2.36lbs, no longer miles removed from the surface pro with keyboard (2.4lbs?).

cant say I’m surprised over the weight.....It was probably a necessary evil to make the floating concept a reality.

I expected it to be heavy, but nearly 50% heavier than the iPad Pro 11 itself?

The Brydge Keyboard is no different. 762 grams. I think it's just the requirements of a design that is balanced, has good battery life, and has key travel.

In fact, pretty much every accessory keyboard that I looked at for my iPP 11" added significant weight. Brydge was probably the worst in that respect...

Yes major letdown. I'm rethinking buying one and instead am going to try caryying around a magic trackpad instead.

Additionally Apple might see the problem as well. I missed it at the announcement, but they revved the existing smart keyboard folios to support the new Pros as well

I don't understand what people were expecting. It's a keyboard case with two hinges and keys that have real travel. It basiclaly turns the ipad in to a laptop. Of course it's going to be a lot heavier than the smart keyboard. I mean.... yeah. If you want key travel, lappability, sturdiness, and the extra usb-c charging port, the weight seems pretty essential.

If you don't want those things, you have the thin wrap around keyboard.
