it is a cool idea, but it wouldn't be so great for people with messy writing

true, but it would add a lot more personality for everyone. I'm a big fan of Sumocat and the other tablet handwriting bloggers.

I tested it out at Gottabemobile and it is nice and I definitely think it should at least be an option on this forum.

    Maybe in a separate subforum?
Another thing to consider is that there should be handwriting recognition, or the forum would no longer be searchable, which would be a shame.

For sure it should have handwriting recognition. The GBM one includes text translation for those with poor handwriting and forum search-ability.

I agree that having inking in the forums would be fantastic feature to have -- also fun to add some personality, however, I've had no luck finding such a plugin or modification for vBulletin which uses PHP files and a MySQL database. The forums that GBM uses has ASPX files (major programming language for ActiveX plugins/features) and most likely a MSSQL (or MySQL database) to run the said feature.

However, this probably won't limit a possible development of having such a feature to be custom-coded for vB, but it'll just be more difficult because it's going to be PHP-based versus ASP- or ASPX-based.
