I hope that pre-built models will become available quickly. With the tx1000z series the pre-built models have always had better value, especially the ones carried by amazon were priced very competitively.

I took the plunge and ordered the TX2000z. I was considering the Dell, but could not get over the price and lack of power. I am still a little concerned about the performance of the HP, but given I am stepping up from a 1.2GHz Pentium M should see a big step.

I ordered over the phone to talk to an agent he said that January 17th ship date they give is worst case scenario and that it could come much sooner.

Oh no! Has the chassis pattern changed completely?
I loved the swirls that were featured on the tx1000!
To be honest, the current design (IE: circles, etc.) looks quite over the top in comparison to previous models.
    Maybe I could just dress the tx2000z in a tx1000s gown. ;)

Also, is the tx2000z geared up to be released in Australia?

Visited HP's booth today at CES. They had a number of TX2000s on display. Went up to one and even before picking it up, I could feel the heat coming from the thing. I overheard many people asking the HP employees if the heat would cause a problem for the thing.

I hope there's a misprint on the features.
I though I read a review of the TX1000 that said the 6 cell got 4-5 hours of battery.
