MobileTechReview posted a video review of the Helix. Another great one. Check it out.

A week ago, The Verge also reviewed the device but it seems they put the same Apple fanboi who reviewed the Surface Pro to review the Helix. The result was not surprising: a highly biased review! So much so that lots of people vented their frustration on the comment section.

Not sure what device manufacturers have signed up to use Ubuntu. I really wouldn't be surprised if they went W8 only or do both W8 and Android phones. They did in the past make HP WM device, including a phone, which if I am not mistaken had Palm as the ODM.

Lisa Gade (MTR) seems to be the only professional reviewer out there (in a popular tech site) that knows what she's talking about. All the popular tech reviews don't know $h!t about tabletPC's or their intended market. It never fails to make me shake my head in disgust when I think they get paid for their ignorant rants comparing a TPC to yet another anemic media device like the iPad.

Just saw the 8" Acer atom powered tablet at Staples. I love the size. If there was an 8" bay trail tablet with W8.1 and a Wacom digitizer, I would really consider it.

I hear that the display was pretty bad though.

Let's just say that the display did not overwhelm me. But, as I said before the tablet's size is perfect. An 8" 4:3 tablet would be ideal but I can live with 16:10 aspect ratio. HD resolution would be fine. I would want one with built in LTE. What a great portable device it would make.

I saw a few at the MS store over the weekend. While, the display was bad, it wasn't as bad as they made it sound. Size was very, nice was was build surprisingly.

I would agree, just make it quad core Atom, and I'd be happy. Hell, i'd even take the N-Trig version used in the Duo 13, just give it a pen!
