I have received the dock portion for the x2 612 computer.
The screen fits nicely;y into the keyboard.
It is solid and easier to type on than the Surface Pro.
But it is noticeably heavier and bulkier overall than
    the Surface Pro.

It even has a "modern" VGA port, of which I thought was
a Serial port at first. (I think they had business usage
in mind. Ancient conference room equipment)

The keyboard has a second battery in the base.
I used it for over 4 hrs and it still showed 45%.
    Battery #1 ran down first.
I'll repost when I get a total run time w/
    both batteries.

The base seems to be better quality than the plasticy
tablet portion. Thus, I think this computer was designed
as a laptop first and a tablet second.

    Pt 2 next post

Update guys, I'm officially using the HP Pro X2 612 as my daily PC computing device.

I want to share with you a few things; some good and some not so good.

    1. its heavy for a 12.5" laptop. compared to other PC solutions, but its acceptable. It weights more than the new Dell XPS 15 skylake.
    2. the WACOM works fantastic and amazing. I used to have the HP elitepad 1000 and that ATMEL stylus was HORRIBLE and ruined the whole experience...
    3. Battery life is strange, windows 10 cant give me an accurate battery life estimate, its all over the map, but im finding that tablet / keyboard together; around 7 hrs on Windows 10. Tablet by itself is around 5 - 5.5 hours which is acceptable; keyboard adds another 1.5-2 hrs of battery
    4. Windows 10 is amazing on this 12.5" screen with the 1920 x 1080 resolution
    5. keyboard is great. i can type very fast and pretty accurate. i dont mind the non-deep travel of the keys; its very comfortable...
    6. I like how the Tablet is RAISED up a bit when attached to powered keyboard; it really aligns your eyes to look at the screen; rather than like a surface pro where you have to tilt your head down.
    7. Charges up very fast...in about 1.5 hrs to full charge
    8. trackpad is very accurate
    9. Its definiely a great buy at these HUGE discounts now

Are you only getting bout 2 hours out of your power base?
That seems to be3 all I'm getting.

    hi sam,

yes...about 2 hrs and change with the keyboard base.....and another 5 - 5.5 hours with the tablet portion....

with the windows 10, it cant seem to accurately measure the battery life...it seems im getting 7 hrs total...which for most cases, should be enough...

i wish someone would run a CPU benchmark on this device or can someone tell me a free website to run benchmarks?

Can the screen on this be mounted in reverse direction, similar to Thinkpad Helix?

I am having an issue with my HP Pro x2 612 and I am wondering if anyone else is seeing it too. I am getting significant battery drainage while the device is shut down/turned off. Is anyone else seeing this? I am making 100% sure that I am clearly shutting the device down using the Windows start menu and not by using the power button on the device.

Is there something I am missing or do I have a defective device?

    No drain when shut down.

Make sure and go into the ADVANCED Power settings and adjust the
"When the Power Button is pressed" Choose : Shut vDown
Mine came with it adjusted to "Sleep"

Start Menu is only a shortcut, not the real adjustment.
Try that and see if it the problem.
