HP Multibay II compatible with normal slimline DVD-Writers?

    As far as I am aware, you can only use Multibay drives which tend to be on the costly side. It is a matter of personal choice, but I don't think that the regular port replicator and the advanced port replicator differ much other then the APR has the multibay. You could get the regular replicator and add an external USB DVD drive. It has the added benefit that you can hook up the DVD drive directly to your tablet should you need to do so.

    Yes, i want to buy an external DVD-Writer if a normal slimline DVD-Writer doesn't fit with the Multibay II Port. But the negative thing by such external Solution is on the one side that the CPU Load is very high by using external USB Drives and on the other side a external drive would take more space on my workplace. Nevertheless it doesn't seems to work so i have to buy an external solution, thx for info!
