So the other day I realized I scratched some of the paint off my HP 2730P
just around the logo area. Does anyone have any idea how I could go about
fixing this up so it looks like new?

I'm guessing that the carbon fiber look is some sort of skin?

Sorry, no magic bullets. Mask, strip, and airbrush is the only repair.

Or you could start over and scrounge a new top cover and replace it.

Hmm, would you know how I would go about doing this?

I looked online for fixing paint issues on metal and have a general idea of what I should do if I want to get this fixed.

Does anyone know any tips or techniques to make this job easier?

I would cover up the HP part with something and and use steel wool on the background. Could you tell me carbon fiber skin that is? It looks awesome.
