    So, I've bought this machine.

Hardware is absolutely stunning, tablet part light and sturdy. It's slightly bigger than SP but 13 inch screen with 3k*2k resolution is noticeably bigger too. Keyboard has aluminium palm-rest and feels a lot more sturdy that SP4 keyboard. I like it better. Pen has rubberish tip, which give it some grip but slides easier than SP4 pen. Initial activation force is noticeably smaller than on SP4 pen and pressure curve feels more natural in general.

I'll make a clean windows install and post some more detail if you guys are interested. Do you have any questions?

    Hi there,

I was curious - what steps did you take to posture to do a clean Windows Install?

Have you thought about a sleeve, screen protector, case - or other protection methods?

Lastly - just overall feedback. I ordered mine. Was curious to know after working with it for a couple of weeks how you felt about it.

    Thanks!

    Joe

    Hello,
After getting a AORUS EGPU Gamebox GTX 1080 connected to my current X2 G2 and reading about 4-core testing it seemed like a good combination.

    I consulted my bank account and ordered a X2 G3 I add the G2 120w Thunderbolt 3 dock. My order is an i7, 16GB, 1TB SSD.

I am expecting performance to equal or out perform my 8-year old 6-core tower.

Well, I'm late to this parade, but after a failed skirmish with the 4k Spectre Folio, I am having HP quote an Elite X2 1013 (16gb/1tb/i7/4g LTE). What are you folks' long term opinions on the G3?

It's about g-d time! Check back to when a certain member urged you this was the model for you to get!!! It's perfect, perfect for you!! A business computer. Ultra high quality, all the features you want, except, er, EMR. You can't have everything. Do it. Order it now! It checks all the boxes and it's not a consumer beta model!!!

I never said I was always right, just on that call. (Also, I've coveted the G3 for so long and can't justify the cost, so someone has to get it!

Check out this review in notebookcheck.net (gold standard in my experience). Only one Con: no SD card. Bummer, but not deal killer, eh? Keyboard not a standout, but HP makes very good low travel keyboards with reassuring click.

EDIT: This might be a deal killer: apparently it costs over $3,000 with 16GB/1TB (though you can buy minimum SSD and upgrade your own for less)/LTE/3K (13.3" 3 X 2)

Can't tell if the RAM is soldered.

    Actually, about $2,400 with a 128GB SSD; +743 for 1TB. $350 for a 1TB Samsung 960 Amazon

Think of all the money you'll get from the sale of the SB2!!!

Jeff - you missed my meaning - you were right about about the other dock as well. The Folio did no better, after a while, using a different USB-C dock only (the one built into the SH850 monitor). I don't consider the Folio I have is a lemon; I'm just convinced there is a problem between the TB3 and graphics performance of some kind, and who knows when they'll unscramble that egg.

I need a solution now, and your recommended Elite X2 1013 comes closest to fitting the bill. If you order through an online sales rep, the price of a fully loaded X2 1013 is more like $2500-$2700 (i7, 16gb. 1tb, 4g LTE)

Still, I can't help but keep wishing for a TRUE Galaxy Book 12 successor with 8th gen quad core, at least one TB3, 16gb RAM, and 4g LTE - capped with it's OLED and Wacom EMR, it would be PERFECT (I find myself hovering over a New-Other current GB12 on eBay despite the missing components in my list). Maybe a single device is just never meant to be...
