The (friendly, famous, intelligent) guys of HP Europe really believe, that they can sell the 11,6" tablet with the Core M 5Y51, LTE 4G, 8GB and 256GB SSD for over ~2,547 USD) (2,250 EURO). No word about Wacom digitizer. Only mentioned in the technical specification as optional.

Well it sounds like a joke if this is eventually the price in Europe.
It should be the price level of SP3 not even sent more!

Sent from Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet

    Those sound like Fujitsu prices.

On the other hand, US prices look quite sane. With the price of the Helix 2 pro keyboard approaching the cost of a new TP 10 tablet, the G1 is well positioned in the market.

Missed that cheap SKU with it lying all the way to the right. Yea, 1150 is a good price compared to the competition, but, on my list at least, it is 3rd most desirable. HP is one of the OEMs I've never owned a device from, but the keyboard dock doesn't look as good in the pictures and it is the heaviest and bulkiest of the 3.

edit: Interesting, the order page lists its weight as significantly lighter than what they have in the data sheet pdf. It is still heavier than the z20t (1.6 lbs), but by a significantly narrower margin (1.71 lbs on order page vs 1.91 lbs in data sheet).

Though, at that weight, it might be a 2760P successor. I might look into getting this. It's got Wacom too. So there's that.

The devices that have made my short list as a possible X301 successor:

    Toshiba X20t
    Lenovo LaVie Z HZ750
    Thinkpad Yoga 15
    HP Elite X2 1011 G1
    Thinkpad Helix 2

Each has its strengths and weaknesses. I am also considering as low cost options a refurbished Thinkpad Yoga 12.5" or the Fujitsu U904 ultrabook with QHD display, 4GB, 128GB SSD in the outlet (if it stays cheap enough).

HP service was great on my Slate 500, which was classified as an elitebook tablet, so we were provided Elite service and could purchase Elite Carepaks. I had a 2 year extended warranty with accidental coverage. It's basically the same extended warranty I got from MS on the AVN8. I also found the HP chicklet keyboards to be some of the better versions of that design. I would expect the G1 to be decent for its size. Since most of the contenders are units not yet on the market, it's hard to narrow down the choices any further ATM.
