    RefreshLock Home Page « M-H.org.uk

Try this tool (RefreshLock). It drops into the tray area. Leave it deactivated (with a red circle-and-diagonal-line symbol on it), Right click the symbol in the tray area, go to "monitor features" and try out the various methods here. Black screen will not even turn off the screen but just make it black so it has a great chance of not making the error occur. Works here without admin rights (Windows 7)

If the error still occurs, please check your energy settings, they might make influence it.

I don't have a tablet to try, I'm just researching for now.
I am interested if these applications work on Windows 8, especially on Clover Trail tablets.

I forgot to post new updates. Nircmd does not work. Its 'turn off monitor' sets the tablet to sleep. Every task becomes suspended.

Sorry to repeat myself, but did you try Refreshlock?

    Sorry for my absence.
Which option do I have to use when I want to turn off the display ? I don't want to mess it up, that's why I'm asking.

Just go wild on them. One should work... Most likely "Black Screen".

They can't really damage anything beyond not working at all... All they do is trying to turn the screen off in different ways.

Blank Screen just uses a black screen on top of every other thing. The display is still on. Though DPMS Off option turns the display off, but everything freezes, just like standby,

Too bad, I thought one of them would work.

Black screen would probably the only thing you can work with until there's a better solution then, huh? Maybe you can lay the tablet on it's face with black screen on and it would be dark enough :p. Unless you're concerned about the health of the screen when it's always on.
