Every time I tried to transfer a picture from my Galaxy Note 3 to my Helix, the process failed. The phone sounds off the NFC chimes and the transfer actually starts, but always fails.

Does that mean that NFC can only share URLs between Android and Win8?

I gave up. I'll try it again later this week after I get some Lenovo updates.

I will try when I get mine in the mail and let you know what I find. I have a Galaxy s5 and a thinkpad 10 coming in the mail. Hopefully will be in my hands Friday.

Have you tried running an Android Emulator? Maybe that'll work with the same Android App on both.

NFC can only be set up to initiate a transfer using a different protocol. Both devices need to have the same protocol running, say either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

I had Bluetooth and WiFi enabled on both devices. Could only transfer URLs....

Yes, but did you setup your NFC connection to initialize a file transfer using Wi-Fi connection add your protocol?

No. How's that done? I was trying to transfer from the Android phone to the Win8.1 tablet. The process started, but the tranfer always failed.

Have you done it before? From Android to Win8.1 and vice versa?

Ok, let's begin with the basics. What is the maximum transfer using NFC?

I don't understand the question. Besides, I know nothing about NFC. I know that both my Note 3 and my Helix have it. And I've seen articles about people exchanging files by tapping the back of their phones.

I don't have have a router, so I'd like to find a way to make the Helix and the note exchange files using WiFi Direct or Bluetooth.... For now I've been using the USB cable.
