I have been using the6 cell battery in the modular bay while having another 8-cell battery on the back of my c140. This gives me about 8 hours of batter life in class. However, since the whole computer with the 8cell hanging on the back is too big for me to put into my backpack, I havto remove the big battery. But the computer always uses the 6cell modular bay battery first, and after a class or two it is drainged to empty. Then if I would have to keep the 8cell battery on the back to keep my computer sleeping without losing unsaved data.
I am just wondering, is there a way I can turn the modular bay battery to secondary and the 8cell on the back to primary, so that my computer would use the power in the 8cell batter first?
    Thank you!!

It's called a MODULAR battery for a reason..because it is supposed to go into a modular bay...and a modular bay is one in which it accepts multiple types of drives, batteries, etc....so it is possible to have the DVD drive and modular battery...you simply eject the dvd drive and slide in the modular battery in the modular bay.

true, but having that big of a thing external kinda defeats the purpose?

Wish I could find a modular battery. :(

As for the OP, why not try to keep the modular battery out of the unit as much as possible. Like only inserting it when you are going to put it into your backpack.

Ah~ LOL. It seems that this thread had drifted a little bit. anyway. Does anyone know how to solve the original question? P8RSON, I remember found another thread on the forum about the multiple batteries in XP. Do you know anyway I can tweak something in the register to change this priority? after all, discharge the bay battery all the way through too much is pretty bad for it~

I still want to know the answer. I basically messed up my hard drive by repetitively forget to insert the modular bay before I remove the big 8cell battery to put the computer into my backpack, when it is still running~ So painful.
