    Couldn't one cut one of the cables of what appears to be the CMOS battery, and then soldering the cut cable back to restore the factory BIOS?

    I bricked my ep121 by replacing the BIOS using the BIOS boot software but reading the new BIOS from a NTFS drive.

    there is a sliding switch on side of pcb...possible to enable or disable cmos battery.?
    easier to just disconnect the main battery.. have try to solder the 40 gauge wire?

    I have brick my slate too..:mad:
    I think it's dead... but this topic is a very good news for me.I have just 3 questions for Cf77
    -How many for 1 bios chips?
    -Have you solve your chips yourshelf?
    -what's your ep121 still works to this day?

    how much is depending on where you are.....from 10 to 30$

    I dropped my Ep121 sideway where the power plug is still connected.
    Result a broken barrel pin..= you can now see the inside positive power connector

    To fix..
    I cut around the adaptor lower, so I can solder the broken barrel...

    cleaned outside..fluxed..and soldered...then expoxy the joint.
