I hate to be a troll here, but I have to comment on this. That is pretty amazing! I so totally want to do that :)

    Nice... but not for me.
I don't have the time to build and sort out any ongoing problems.

Call me old fashioned but I'd rather spend the extra and have a manufacturer build me a standard machine... and if anything goes wrong with it.... I blame them and not my inadequate technical brain. :)

That's pretty amazing, building your own Modbook. It's too bad Apple doesn't see the Tablet market as economically viable, and that there's nobody selling a convertible tablet Macbook.

    That is an awesome philosophy.

It's far from perfect, but a good idea nonetheless =) I was thinking of trying this with a 7" LCD for a homebrew PMD, but the resources for that don't exist yet (-> poor college student)

I'd go with P8RSON's philosophy for anything Mac-hardware-related, don't want to be messing around with expensive hardware... I'm up for anything else though.

Isn't the OSX96 project more appealing at the moment? Especially when everything works... http://gsbd41316.wordpress.com
But hey it's true, the modbook is going to be a hell nicer to look ;-)
