Because advertisers pay for clickthroughs and visits, charity sites can exist that allow you to help out a charity of your choice without having to spend a dime. These sites are legitimate ways of helping out others without spending more than 1 second of your broadband enabled day.

Regardless of where you are in the world, you can help out a lot of people by spending that 1 second every day. Pick a charity that you are interested in (link below) and click on their ad-link, preferably once a day. You can sign up for a reminder email as well (no spam whatsoever).

*I do not work for any company affiliated with charitysite, or charitysite. I only seek to help promote a simple and sustainable method for doing some good. If you are skeptical about how this actually works (or if it does), you can read about it on the site or call them.

Another project that is similar is being carried out by Microsoft, if you're a user of MSN or Windows Live Messenger. All you do is add a code to your personal message and money will be donated to specific charities for every instant message you send

    Check it out here: http://im.live.com/Messenger/IM/Home/

    Thanks for that link, Drtigerlilly.

If there is anything Microsoft deserves accolades for, it's for Bill Gates' desire to participate in philanthropy. He has done a tremendous amount for charity, regardless of the quality of Microsoft's products.
