Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place at all.

I have an LE1700 and this morning when I turned it on it booted up, stayed on for about 5 minutes, and then shut down spontaneously. I tried again several more times with the same result (tried starting in safe mode and all, too).

I suspect this is probably some kind of power issue, since it's not staying on long enough to overheat.

The battery hasn't really worked ever since I got it - I can only run the thing with it plugged into the wall, but apparently now it won't even do that.

Should I try buying a replacement battery? They're dreadfully expensive ($150 on the motion site) but I don't see what else I can do... I just hate to buy a new battery and have that not fix the problem... Does anybody have any advice? I have so much money wrapped up in this thing and I absolutely NEED it for my work!

    Thanks for any help/advice.

What happens if you start it without the battery?
I just checked with my 1700, it is running fine no battery inserted.

It definitely turns on and runs with the battery removed - but no idea whether it will stay on. I will post an update if it goes off again. Thanks.
