    Buying a 1000€ tablet + 150€ battery + 500€ RAM module + xxx€ SSD

Wouldn't it have been easier to buy one of the 1900-2200€ Fujisu convertibles/tablets that have all this?

Price is almost the same but the system is designed for it from the start.

Thank you. It appears this is the definitive answer to upgrading past 4gb in the EP121.

Yes, sadly also twice the weight (2.2kg). But if I really need a tablet with all that RAM and power my guess is that a T73x or T90x with it's different battery concept and non-Laptop CPU might be the more cost efficient choice.

Do not get me wrong, I like my EP121+XP18000 combi and it is (at 1140€) a better deal for my needs. But OTOH I have an 8GB i7 with Dual Monitor setup for programming tasks etc. and use the tablet for drawing, texting, document reader etc.

    forum necromancy...

Well, I've had my slate for about 2 weeks. Wish I had done a little more research before buying. Had I known I couldn't upgrade it to 8gb RAM, probably wouldnt have bought it. Not that I really NEED 8gb, it's the principle behind not being able to upgrade that disappoints me.

However, if owning an Android tablet has taught me anything in the past, it's that if you dont like whats in the code, change the code. I.E., has anyone thought of rewriting the BIOS to remove the 4gb limitation? (or even just checking to see if it's there). I feel kinda troll-ish, suggesting something that I dont have the skills to do myself, but still, just throwing it out there....
