Has anyone installed a 8GB RAM module yet?

It isn't just about the CPU's memory support... every motherboard I've ever owned, desktop or mobile, has had a memory limit hardcoded into the BIOS.

Shouldn't the system can still be turned on..except system would utilize the amount of memory that is coded? like 8g but only 3.79 available etc.

    They look fine.

Rarely have I edited a bios that has a limit coded in. Only time I have seen it used was when there was a known issue with one manufacturers chip running at a particular speed.

Not always, if a clock speed/synchronisation can't be reached, bios will just lock hard.

I looks like you bought a 1.5v chip from a quick scan of the specs., what voltage was the one you took out? If it was 1.35v that could be the reason.

Yes, but 1.5v wouldn't work in a 1.3 slot. Taking time to investigate further, the slot appears to be 1.5v.
Most companies offering upgrades are doing them at 1066.
In theory the 1333 should clock down, but I have had issues with one make in the past. Perhaps the cf8 would be more likely.
