Here is what I know for sure-
On intel's website under Core i5 470UM is says it can handle up to 8GB. The HP TM2 has the same processor and it's logic board has two slots and can handle 8GB. The 8GB ram modules that you can buy right now are rated at 1333mhz and the EP121 is rated at having 1066mhz for RAM. So I did a bit of research on it and found that 1333mhz ram module can replace 1066mhz modules. The worst thing that can happen is that it will only use 1066mhz of the 8GB module and since they are ECC they will not cause the computer to crash.I think that is not that bad if that is the worst that can happen. I just want to know if anyone has installed one yet.

There were several threads discussed this already.

    8gb is for dual channel.

    8gb sodimm is around 900$ ..

channel do you mean dual slots? and I have found some for less than half of $900, they are confirmed 8GB 1333mhz ddr3 204 pin. Maybe you could quickly answer for me, has anyone done it yet that you know of?

I think writing an email to Intel would be faster.
as CF77 mentioned, since the EP121 is single channel (i.e. only 1 physical RAM slot) there could be a problem in accepting 8GB in a single slot/channel.

Well, you have to pay 600+ at least. I don't think that makes much sense for only +4GB more. Isn't there any adapter that makes one slot into two or something? I think you would safe much money with it.

If you're not satisfied with the performance you're getting from 4GB, 8GB won't fill the psychological void either. Hell 2GB is plenty fast.

I disagree, I was just pushing my 4GB limit about an hour ago doing photoshop work. I am anxiously waiting for 8Gb sodimm to become affordable!!
