If the data he gathered is right, you can use it just like ArtDock. No need to lift the pen. But if touch+pen is not working properly then, yeah, pen needs not be in range to touch the toolbar. Then you can toggle a key (it'll turn orange around the border while it's on), and then it'll deactivate when touched again. Swiped from my Galaxy Note 4 using Tapatalk
@ron2k_1 Same thing goes to my x201t, no output produced by touch HID when pen is near the screen. It seems certain that simultaneous pen and touch won't come to our dear Thinkpad Xs. Nevertheless it wouldn't be that much of a handicap IMHO. I've been very pleased with a pen/touch-only toolbar coupled with a Zeemote for modifier keys setup. Hardware input still prevails. Not to mention that little Zeemote is no less than a mini TabMate controller, ergonomic, low profile and highly portable. > How did you get the OffsetTouchID of 13 It was actually from Koide in his RawInputControllerTest v0.1g. Except from FirstByte, MaxX/Y and OffsetX/Y, I did not change any of the other variables. Also thank you for the head up about OffsetY! @Takanu I tried several values for OffsetTouchID but it didn't seem to fix the issue.. will play around with other variables to see how it goes. I'll keep you informed if there is any progress.
I've heard about Zeemote before, but having to use the key remapping software always turns me off. Bear in mind that with both lblb's and incrediclint tools you can use toggle keys. You press them once. It turns orange and it stays on until you press the key again. Swiped from my Galaxy Note 4 using Tapatalk
No that's exactly what you can do now. For example holding modifier keys down with touch and using the pen at the same time. Here is just a quick screenshot (writing with pen and holding down ctrl-modifier with touch) but if you want I can try to make a video:
I'm aware of toggle keys. However they are just a compromise and severely affect the productivity in a long drawing session (at least for me). Meanwhile one of the best parts of using hardware input is the ability to press and hold the physical keys while using pen at the same time. This perfectly makes up for the inability to use both pen and touch simultaneously in our devices.
Thankyou so much for this post. I will be trying it out as soon as I have my sp2 up and running again. Hopefully I can install one easily enough fragmented over a week. Very busy. Could anyone recommend which tool is best for sp2?
Hey, i think the SP2 works with most touch toolbars already, but I could be wrong. Theres a bunch of touch toolbars out there you can try (including mine! >). CHOMP Toolbar - http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/threads/chomp-toolbar-latest-version-0-67.63005/ ArtDock - http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/threads/new-artdock-for-surface-pro.55516/ TouchKey - http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/threads/touchkey-a-universal-artdock-alternative.63098/ SUIT - http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/threads/suit-shortcut-ui-toolbar.61676/ SAI + PS Toolbar - http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/threads/sai-ps-toolbar-extended-based-on-ps_sai_toolbar.55812/
ArtDock and SUIT does not support touch and pen at the same time in the SP2. user incrediclint just added touch+pen support for the SP2 to his Radial Menu tool. http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/index.php?threads/64232/ Swiped from my Galaxy Note 8 using Tapatalk
Thankyou very much for your quick replies guys! Cheers ron 2k for both of your replies to my posts. Ill try one out in a week or so!
Is the glitch effected by using auto hotkey like this? Pressing a button with touchscreen while drawing or panning doesn't cause it to happen more often? That looks pretty rad. Eventually when I'm not working 70+ hours per week I'll give it a whirl, however my touchscreen is so busted, it will most likely not work very well, but I'd like to try a little at least.
