Gateway fingerprint reader software on C-140X and C-120X

    sure. it will contain the drivers for the hardware in the pc currently. You will still need those regardless of what HD you have.

    yeah, i just didnt know if there was something special about it to where it could only work with the one they shipped with the c-140x... thanks

    Just a head up, Nikecar, the link you provide is for Gateway 450GH with Protector Suite QL 5.1. It may/may not work with the C-140X or the C-120X.

    The version that come preinstalled on my C-120X is 5.6.

    Man, i hope my laptop comes early...

    Ive got some ram, an HD, Hd case, New desk chair, and will buy a new desk after i get it.

    I hope i get it atleast before i start school!


    p.s. anyone know anything about linux? and want to teach me? im thinking about getting a cheap barebone kit, and learning linux, dos, c++... pm me if you want to teach me!

    I would recommend you start with kubuntu if you're going to get into linux.

    Yeah but ive heard it would be best to buy a cheap barebone kit, or some kind of computer... and use it only for learning linux... is this true?

    If you have one that would be the best. If not, a live DVD system that boots into linux and runs from the DVD and a RAM disk without interfering with your hard disk is a good way to look around. The DVD is compressed and they manage to get an amazing amount of software available to play around. Ubuntu has one as well as the better known knoppix.

    I used a Ubuntu live cd. You can even request a free one from their website if you really want to.
