After reading all the great info given to me on the notebook/tablet issue I think I am ready to give a tablet a shot.

After doing some research I found the following at BestBuy. Is this a good deal? Is there something else I should consider?

    Gateway CX2610 Convertible Notebook
    Featuring Intel® Centrino™ Mobile Technology and Intel® Pentium® M Processor 740
    Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition
    • Microsoft ® OneNote software
    • Reads and writes DVDs and CDs
    • 512MB DDR2 memory
    • 80GB hard drive
    • Intel® PRO/Wireless LAN 802.11g
    • U.S. industry’s first 14" widescreen convertible notebook

    Thanks for all the help!

you can get a toshiba at best buy as well and it is in my opinion much better. not as clumsy with the widescreen and weighing about 2lb less. though it won't have a 80gb hd. it will have 60. bestbuy sells the toshiba r15

Perhaps I missed this in a previous post, but did you mention your specific needs. If you could give an idea of the points that are important to you and why we could give you a better idea if we think it will suit your needs well.

welll the authors requirements indicated enough to go on. I just felt that he/she did not know about the r15 and I believed the r15 to feel better because it does not have a widescreen. I could not write on a wide screen. to narrow for me. the r15 has a 8.5x11 screen size which is like paper. in any case I don't see why any other retail tablet would be better than the r15. you can tell how they mentioned bestbuy, hense, maybe not wanting to buy online.
