Gateway C-140x Waiting Room

    i talk to my sales rep he said they r out of the glass screen can anyone confirm that? delayed esa: aug 31 ordered july 31

    I ordered 7/10. My current EAD is 8/31. If delivered on my EAD it will have been a 52 day wait. I also got the call from Gateway. I am suspecting the x2300 is the problem. It seems the folks getting shipments in that last couple days are all X3100s

    Hmm, called Gateway twice today (just because I have been having so many problems I want to make sure there is no other delays), the first CS told me my order would be delayed till Sept 4, another rep told me August 31st and had no idea where the first one came up with September (although I think this one also checked the gateway web site... :confused: ). I wish my rep was easier to get hold of, I have been tring to call him for a long time but he never answers and only rarely checks his messages or emails.

    Edit: Rep emailed me and confirmed the delay date of Sept 4th, he said he told the company to make it a priority... really doubt that will do anything.

    was just on phone with my rep and she said that my sept 03 date is VERY likely to be delayed. I'll probably be forced to cancel.

    That just pisses me off, i ordered July 2nd and i had nearly the exact same setup as you (1.8ghz rather than 2.0ghz and the fingerprint reader) and the fact that yours has already shipped just makes me sick that gateway has to ship out to people that ordered later rather than earlier.

    hey first message but long time viewer. i ordered the c140x on july 28 with original ead on 8/10 which was delayed to 8/30 but got the email on 8/21 that it had shipped with an arrival date of 8/23. i got 2.2 ghz processor with x2300hd graphics with 120 gb hd with 2 gb ram with 8 cell battery. sorry if this pisses some of you off cause i would be pissed off too if i had been waiting almost two months.

    Hi, I recently found out that somebody who ordered an
    identacle system as I did, one day before me, has already recieved their
    c-140x. Mine is still apparently "processing" and according to the phone
    order status system "all parts are available". What is the reason for
    the hold up?

    No, that person did not order a QS model. And apparently a couple people
    who ordered after me had theirs shipped as well.
    I Have heard a rumor that the early september EADs are scheduled to be
    delayed, which bites.

    I dont want to cancel, but I am tired of waiting for a computer I was
    supposed to have a week ago. I would really like some answers, other
    than "this is a popular system". If that were the reason, wouldnt the
    status by phone not be saying "all componants are available"?

    I have more than enough money for the system waiting in my bank
    account... So that shouldnt be any problem at all.

    Please help me get some real answers. Every time I have asked, I have
    been told its because its a popular system. But that doesnt explain why
    people's systems are getting built and shipped out of order.

    I talked to my rep today and he confirmed my EAD has been bumped from 8/31 to 9/3. That will be 55 days from order to delivery. He said it was due to a backorder on screens. If the delay is screens then Gateway is definitely not using FIFO fulfillment.

    Chris: That does bite! An automated response completely disregarding the content of your email is just adding salt ...

    Just so you know, I think they stopped offering the QS system for quite some time, at least a few weeks.

    I just called the automated order status number. For a coupla weeks it said, "all components available for your config.... await release to manufacture facility". Today, auto message said, "a cust service rep can give you more info" and connected me to a rep who told me my EAD was pushed from 8/30 to 9/7. Bummer.

    Order date: 7/30, EADs: 8/10, 8/30, 9/7.
