Yeah pretty much every new laptop has one of these threads so I figured I would make one for the gateway.

I don't know, post your configuration or something and your EAD.

    Mine is in my sig.

Man another person with a delivery date a day earlier than mine. HAHA something has to be causing this maybe it is the bluetooth!?

It is only a day. Now if people next week get better EAD's then I start freaking out.

Yeah, they RMA'd my CX210X for me, and my C-140X order is processing.

    T7100
    x3100
    80 GB 5400 rpm HDD
    2GB RAM
    8XDVD-RW
    12 Cell Battery

Expected delivery date 7/26, however, the salesperson said they are not even being built yet so not to expect it till around the second week of August. Hopefully she was just trying to sell me a QS and it will be here sooner :[.

I ordered overnight shipping. This may have something to do with it.

Ah probably so. The shipping was free for me so they probably gave me ground.

Does anyone know if these things are being built overseas (ie China) or somewhere here in America?

Edit: Sure seems like a lot of people purchased the accidental warranty.

I ordered a Gateway c-140x yesterday (july 3). I was given an EAD of 7/24/07. (sorry, Lucky Spoon...) I'm new to both tablet pcs and posting...I think this is a summary of the config I ordered:Home Vista Premium, Intel Core 2 Duo T7300, 2048 SDRAM, 120GB hard drive, 8x Multi-Format Dual Layer DVDRW With DVD-RAM, Primary 8-Cell Lithium Ion battery, 14.0” WXGA, Chassis w/ 128MB graphics, PM965, 1394 & FPRDR (Viper-SR), C-ValuePln 3yr Parts/Labor/NoOnsite/TechSup and 1Yr C&B Portable 3yr Accidental Damage Plan.
Does anyone know if this accidental damage plan covers screen damage?
By the way, I spent several hours reading the reviews and posts before deciding on this tablet...very informative AND entertaining. What a combination!:)

Do the C-140X's have Wacom based digitizers?

Yes the accidental warranty covers damage inflicted upon the screen or pretty much anything (minus obvious excessive abuse). Even the normal warranty covers the screen against regular wear and tear (which pen usage is considered regular wear and tear).

Yes the C-140X is Wacom Penabled Tablet. It can utilize the pressure sensitivy.

    Hi Nichod,

I'm happy to report to you that the C-140X does have a Wacom Penabled digitizer. :)

When I was checking out I was given an estimated ship (not arrival) date of 7/20. Which means it should be here either on the 21st or 23rd, depending on if their carrier of choice provides Saturday delivery.

They didn't even give me a shipping date just the arrival date. It is sort of a weird system... most companies give the EDD not the EAD.

Same here, NovaBird. I was very pleased with the amount of information I found here . . . now let's hope that the Table is as awesome as it seems to be.

That is awesome what are you studying and where do you plan on living?

I tried to email the computer store but I didn't really get a response (probably because it is summer) so I just called the gateway academic team and they worked it out for me. I probably got it cheaper the way I did it anyways.

BTW I am studying electrical engineering and staying at the castilian. Hells yeah right on the drag.

According to Gateway, the laptops will take ten business days to process, build and ship. (Seven days processing and part gathering, three days building.) Which means (theoretically, anyway) that mine will ship on the 17th and arrive on the 18th. Theoretically. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
