No idea if this is the upcoming name of the device, but whatever it is, if it has S-pen capability, I'm getting it. It won't simply be the "best smartphone companion"... it will be my Device period.

Yes, it will be pricey, but I've already mentally rationalized the justifications. I usually only update my phone every 3 to 4 years. I think a foldable screen will transform how I do work. I already like how the wallet stand cases look on the Fold 2. I'm already envisioning things, using portable keyboards and mice, multitasking office work on a bigger screen. It could be my standard Superdisplay accessory, so I won't need to lug or charge a separate tablet all the time.

Anyway, putting this thread out to get everyone's thoughts and to join me in rumors and preorder anticipation as the release date draws closer. I can't wait for the day when we're updating our FedEx shipment status.

If they come out with a more affordable Lite version too, I might spring for it. Just for the novelty. I still think I need a Neo-like Windows device.

I wonder though if the Lite version would not include S-pen capability for cost savings.

It would, but they'd cut corners on materials and other specs, just like the note 10 Lite.

FWIW. I think the Fold 3 (likely not going to be called that BTW) is going to be a major release. In all the years I've worked with Samsung, I've never seen such open and positive talk about a device that officially doesn't exist.

I do think it's going to be pricey, but I also think that pitch will be that it truly can replace both phone and tablet which for some people and use cases (even me, for say an overnight trip) truly could be a single device option.

I’ve backed out of my desire for this device due to the folded size—too big for someone like me who’s still holding onto a 2016 iPhone SE. But for others here it might be their unicorn, worth the price.

... And if I may quote you from the “Best Smartphone...” topic a year ago:
Third iteration indeed. I’m pretty sure you wrote something similar after the first Fold came out two years ago (it stuck in my mind) but couldn’t find the prophetic quote. My mind cannot be trusted these days. :vbtongue:

Yeah, I have this gut feel that third iterations are a sweet spot.
However... if it does get an S-pen... am I signing myself up to be a guinea pig for the first gen stylus on foldable screen Samsung tech?

You and my wife.:) She caught me looking and was "didn't you just buy your Surface Duo a few months ago???"

She should understand by now that this and that are two separate things.
