I do remember that I had to get an 8.1 image from my local MS store and install that first. I don't think it was an image for Note 8 specifically, but it did kinda work. Then I upgraded from the 8.1 to 10 and 10 retained the wonkiness of the install from 8.1.

Only having one uUSB port on the thing was an epic design fail on Asus' part. Also having a cellphone IMG TECH GPU really sucks when getting Windows to work properly...

I think the problem with my previous install was that I had an x64 ISO.
Downloaded an x86 and I'm at it again.

I would recommend being real patient. I remember when I tried to reset my Asus, the screen would sometimes go black and not come on. I was tempted to panic but if I left it over night sometimes it would greet me in the morning having completed the task.

This is as far as I get. It stops there.
Hmm, can’t upload photo from iPad.
Anyone know how to make the photo smaller thann1MB?
Anyway, I get to “Preparing files for installation 75%”, and then it goes dark.

Unfortunately I have the patience of a polecat on amphetamine.
But I shall try, I shall endure.
I shall leave my humble abode and not come back for a day. I shall prevail.

You need to have battery full when starting, have a hub that allow charging through. You need to have enough power until the end. And yes, do not be afraid of long period without any progress or in black. Because of the very slow drive, every install was slow.

Since this thread is about the Galaxy Note 8, I'm moving my postings to the thread Vivo Tab Note 8 and Windows 10.
