    Hello,

Ordered a i3 duo 11, just now discovered that i3 does not have native instruction set for AES encryption which makes truecrtyp run 4-6 times faster. (i5 and i7 should have it).

Does anybody know if the SDD in itself support FDE (Intel does for example, and I think Samsung does)?

If that's not the case i hope that the performance will be ok with truecrypt anyway.

    Fingers crossed

    /voz

The 256GB SSD seems to be Toshiba THNSN256GMCP which is not self encrypting unfortunatley. Exept for the most demanding disk access programs performance seems to be totally ok with software encryption (bit defender or trucrypt for example) on the i3. However, the processor will generally be a bit more loaded, thus draw slightly more power. Anybody looking to encrypt their drive wole be better served to order the i5 or i7 processor. I will return the i3 and order an i5.
