Specs seem to be largely the same. It is possible that if MS finally fixed connected standby on 64-bit Windows it'll be sporting 64-bit Windows. The moment they do that, I am clean installing my Q584 to 64-bit Windows and rocking that 4 GB RAM.

That's my guess too since HP is on the verge of shipping x64 Elitepads as well. One way to tell would be to watch the driver download section for x64 drivers being posted. HP has yet to post any for the Elitepad 1000 so I don't think they are shipping yet. Once Fujitsu posts them for an x64 Q584 my guess would be they starting to go out the door!

The one difference in listings I notice is that the "in stock" new one is Windows 8.1 Pro while the older "discontinued " listing is for plain Jane Win8.1.

I suppose if Fujitsu does bring out 64-bit drivers that are compatible with current Bay Trail 3770 Q584s I won't be able to resist a fresh install. I happen to have an unused full install Win8.0 Pro disk I picked up way back in the beginning when they were almost giving them away ($50, IIRC). It'll be a pain to update, but it won't cost me anything.

Well, I happen to have Windows 8.0 installation media and a bootable Windows 8.1 installation flash drive for x64 as well, so I'd say I am covered. :D

If it happens that we finally get 64-bit drivers, I'll probably make a clean install guide.

Newegg is selling some open box q584's for $679, for anyone looking to save some $$. Be sure to read that open-box return policy fine print!
