So, I downloaded chrome, to try it out with my new tablet... but I can't seem to make the program tablet-friendly!

Are there any tablet owners that use Google Chrome regularly?

Firefox has more menus and more GUI buttons, as well as a very handy grab-and-drag extension that is great for tablets.

I'm curious if there are plug-ins for Chrome that will make it more tablet-friendly.

Chrome is in very early beta and I really believe it is just a proof of concept product for Google. Until it adds some more features, I'd stick with whatever you were using before.

for now i don't think there will be any plug-ins for CHROME since first of all most computer user don't use tablet around the world, so it may take sometime, but overall CHROME is not perfect and also it Features now maybe lacking but what more inportant is that, it from the web giant Google, and how much stuff they own that is useful, and how will they combine the feature into one.

this is some info i got from a mag in AUS for now (Australia PC Authority, ISSUE 133, page 26,27)

Google CHROME Vs FireFox 3 Vs Internet Explorer 8 (Beta 2)

    Features:
    3/6 stars : 5/6 stars : 4/6 stars

    User Security & Privacy
    4/6 stars : 4/6 stars : 5/6 stars

    Performance:
    6/6 stars : 5/6 stars : 2/6 stars

the only reason why i would use CHROME for now with or without the tablet is the speed on javaScript

    JavaScript benchmarks test

    CHROME
    3049 ms

    FireFox
    5612 ms

    IE 7
    73077 ms

    IE 8(beta 2)
    12023 ms

you may get better luck after Window 7 come out

    Chrome 2 is out!

If anyone runs it on a tablet, let us know what the pros/cons/add-ons are!

I haven't tried Chrome, but I much prefer Opera over Firefox for its speed, which has HUGE a huge advantage of FF.

I am using Firefox 3 with a few add-ons like:

    Firegesture
    Grab and Drag
    Fast Dial

These makes browsing much easier with the stylus

I recently installed chrome on my brand new install of windows 7 RC, seems to work stable and fast like on my vista machine. Only problem is the little input icon doesnt turn up when I go to input text into forms.

besides performance chrome is also great because it doesnt have all those useless buttons like other browsers, which is great seeing as im using it on a 1024 x 768 screen in portrait mode.

I don't understand why I would want to give up my search bar (notice the separators) for the ability to search only with google from the address bar. So many people will be seeing this as an innovation when it really isn't.

As for tablet compatibility, the only problem I have is with forward and back flicking; It always does it twice- per.

You can set the default search engine in the chrome options, and search with other search sites by pressing the tab button(eg. "y*tab*Michael Jackson" searches youtube for Michael Jackson, "wi*tab*CPU" searches wikipedia for CPU, etc) once you have done at least one search in said site.
