The most recent Insider Fast build (17133) is apparently the 'RTM' version for 1803 / Spring Creators Update anyway. They'll most likely continue to give cumulative updates just like they did with previous versions, but this is it. At the same time, it's messier than the last major update, which was messier than the previous major update and so on and so forth.

Until Microsoft restores sensible stylus functionality, I will not be updating.

I'm not likely to ever by a Windows device again, unless they make a significant effort to make good on this debacle.

For those on Chrome or Opera, you might notice the latest version of Chromium-based browsers defaults to the dreaded pen scrolling behavior, even if you don't have FCU installed.

To my huge relief, I found a method to revert chrome to old pen behavior:

    (StackOverflow)
    "chrome://flags
find "Direct Manipulation Stylus Windows" and disable it"

I hope this helps all you compulsive tablet browser monsters like me. ;)

Funny side note: I was using (and still use) an addon for Firefox that allows me to scroll with the pen (and mouse) since my very first penabled device (Win Vista era) and still be able to select text at the same time (horizontal drag over text selects text, links will be dragged like normal and anything else will scroll the page).

What addon is it? The one I previously used has stopped working. "Drag to Scroll" no longer does anything regardless of how I have any of the many settings arranged. I wonder if maybe Radial Menu is interfering with it or something..?

    UPDATE******

    This works: "DragOnWeb"
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dragonweb/?src=search

I'd had it installed before but couldn't get it to work. It may have been updated, or perhaps I just got smart. Double click to toggle between drag and text selection modes. Seems to work okay.

I used Grab and Drag till FF56. Unfortunately it wasn't updated for FF57+ and I switched to ScrollAnywhere.
I also tried Drag To Scroll but I liked ScrollAnywhere more at the time of switching from Grab and Drag. However Drag To Scroll was also updated constantly so it might be the better option now?.

For what it's worth since I know this issue was discussed a lot here... today's fast build for Redstone 5 (the next major update most likely out in the fall) now has an option that I think will satisfy what some of you were asking for:

"If you go to Pen & Windows Ink Settings, you’ll find a new option that allows your pen to behave like a mouse instead of scrolling or panning the screen."
