Searched the forum and googled it:
How do I enable finger printer recognition in vista?

After doing a retail install of Vista and loading the AuthenTec AES1610 Fingerprint Driver, I can find no option in control panel or elsewhere to enable this device (it is enabled in device manager).

    Any suggestions?

You will need a fingerprint reader software. The tx2500 ships stock with the digital persona reader software. If you backed up the SWSetup folder before the clean install, the software installation files should be located in the SWSetup/DPFR folder. HP's website also has this software for download albeit its a slightly older version. Some people also use different software like the Lenovo fingerprint reader or the biocrypt verisoft reader used in other HP laptops. Personally, the DPFR does a good job other than not supporting firefox, I like it a lot.
