    Hey guys,
I've been lurking for a while, reading about the great apps people have been developing for the eeeNote. As I didn't have a MicroSD card handy I never got around to installing any of them, and now...

    freeenote.org is down.

Are there any other sources hosting these files? They looked very promising (the browser, the improved PDF Reader, and the painting app in particular caught my eye).

    Best regards,
    Jojanzing

    Hi Jojanzing,

The traffic on freeenote.org was extremely low, so I decided to let the domain registration lapse.

I have redirected all the previous content of the site to:
    FreeeNote.org

You may have to change the default URL of the package manager, but all of the content is there.

Sorry for any confusion that may have caused.

In order to change the default feeds, open the file "get_opkg" in a text editor and change the lines
    echo "src original http://freeenote.com/feeds/original" > $OPT/etc/ipkg/original.conf
    echo "src pbarrette http://freeenote.com/feeds/pbarrette" > $OPT/etc/ipkg/pbarette.conf
    to
    echo "src original http://freenote.peterbarrette.com/feeds/original" > $OPT/etc/ipkg/original.conf
    echo "src pbarrette http://freenote.peterbarrette.com/feeds/pbarrette" > $OPT/etc/ipkg/pbarette.conf

If you've already installed qtpacker, in addition to the edits above, open "dvt_check" in a text editor and add the line, without quotes, "./get_opkg" above the line "./installer". Copy all the files onto the SD card, insert it into the Note, and reboot.

    Hi all,
thanks Jojanzing for the valuable post.
and special thanks to Pbarette, BlacKnight, mp035, d.goryachev, SH0DAN, TheTwo and all who contributed to the eee note (the still"I think" the best in its category).

@Jojanzing can you explain more clearly where is "above" exactly? , I don't want to mess with the dvt_check.

    many thanks.
    HYT
