Go to "control panel -> windows update" and search for something like "x optional updates are available". There you should find the windows update "Asus ... G-Sensor ...".

If it is not listed there, I don´t know how to solve your problem, sorry.

It seems to me that the audio driver ASUS supplies requires another update so that the tablet volume control brings up the "currently playing" panel - top-left, as the hardware keyboard's volume controls do.

How do you flash the bios in Windows 8? I tried installing winflash from Asus and I get an error message "this program only for asus notebook"

Copy the BIOS file on an USB Stick. Restart your system and enter BIOS. There you find a Flash Utility. Start this utility and select "USB Stick->BIOS file" on the left side and start flashing! :) Everything should work fine!
Caution: Be sure that you have downloaded the correct file for your machine!

Has anyone installed the WLAN drivers from the Asus site in the final version of Win8? Wireless works more or less out-of-the-box for my own home network, but at work, my slate refuses to connect to WLAN until I install the drivers from Asus.

If you want pressure sensitivity with the 709-5 drivers in Windows 8 refer to my install procedure.
