I used to use it on my old laptop. The custom settings are much better than the battery settings in XP. I'm not sure how it'll work on the vista and this processor. Does anyone use this on their x61?

I'm using it and am pretty happy with it. I haven't yet determined if it's possible to underclock the processor. But it makes the fan very quiet, has a good interface, and almost starts automatically.

twinotter - is it a x61t you are using it? On mine it does not work. Seems to be not ready for Santa Rosa/Vista.

same, I couldn't see any stepping in the processor, but I still use it to monitor the temp.

Try RMclock. It allows both underrating on the X60 and keeps power usage way down.

RMclock unfortunately does not work on x61t either.
