Do something against the spam!

I don't know about you guys, but I am TOTALLY annoyed by all these frikkin spambots we're getting lately.

Ain't there a way to stop that?

 

I agree, it has been bad. I try to catch them as soon as possible and thankfully we have great moderators to help as well. Sorry, for now this is what we can do.

We'll hopefully rectify this problem soon, but we usually catch it; if you see the user is banned in their spam post, we caught it - infractions have been issued - someone will usually be around to remove it as soon as they can. If we miss a spam post anywhere, just report it and ignore it. Or PM one of the moderators about it, if you'd prefer; but usually reporting it gets our attention.

 

Hmms, just red flagging a certain suspicious PM I got today. Some guy by the login einstein sent me a PM with an ad. He's got no postings. Take a look into him. I doubt he legitly wants to know who I am.

Ok, I've banned him as a temporary measure, but in future I think we definitely need some sort of measure against this; we can't keep banning people based on PMs we never see, after all.

 

Something tells me that these a-holes keep spamming us because their posts get clicked on. If they see repeated views of their BS ads, they will keep coming.

Either we make this site's registration more restricting (pain in the a$$ for the admins) or we make a sticky telling folks NOT to click on the spam threads, not even to laugh at their absurdity.

Cripes, I saw a bunch of new SPAMs on the boards and people keep clicking on them! One had over 180 views on it! WTH is wrong with you all!?!

If they keep getting views, they will keep spamming us! DON'T FREAKIN' CLICK ON THEIR SPAM THREADS!!!!!

 

Look in the who is online section, and if you see someone with a name IUSEVIAGRAANDIMBIG

or CHEAPDRUGSFORSALE

look in their profile and if they have a post, report it immediately, or if you see the obvious name without a post, PM a site admin and report them I've done it and will even PM then to say leave. 2 left that were online without posting anything.
