My tablet is still going strong, but I have bought from taobao some 8 and 10 pin flex cable following spec:

    8 pin: type B connection, 35mm length
    10 pin: type B, 40mm length

These are made to order and you can spec any length, I was quoted 1.6 RMB(~30 US cent)each before postage.

When these arrived, I popped open the back of my tablet again: 001.jpg
here you can see the blu-tac mod I did previously to hold the cable steady.

Then I swapped new 8pin cables in, stacked some foam material underneath:

I am using foam material this time, cos I swear, that tablet feel significantly heavier in my hand after blu-tac mod, even though it should only add small amount of weight. either way 10 pin cables got the same treatment: 004.jpg

swapping cable took about 10 mins for me, I needed to use a scissor to round out the edge to make it easier to push in, and needed to use tweezer.

Popped the back of tablet back on, and new cable works well!

    cables, old vs new.

The new cable seem to be more stiff and less flexible than original one, not sure why.

That is amazingly cheap. Would you happen to have the link for the cables? Thanks.

Thanks! good timing. my pen cable just blipped (it's like there's a timer on this thing.)
It works after fiddling with it randomly again but ugh. time to buy replacement cables.

BTW, how long did it take for postage?

I did not ship direct since I also bought a lot of other stuff at time and used a freight forwarder, took 2 weeks to ship to Australia.

If you want it fast may have to ask them about shipping options.

Ah, thanks. I'll probably get them from digikey then as I'm going to be out of country and don't want to be stranded with a broken cable.

    Meso, I do not recall,
did you replace both the touch and the digitizer cables?
