This is a great fix 2.0™. Works flawlessly. I might add that for Windows 10 the instructions differ slightly:

Open regedit (type regedit in start menu search box)

    Navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video

Now hit Ctrl+F or select find from the edit menu.

    Search for: FeatureTestControl

You should find two instances of FeatureTestControl, change each instance you find from whatever it currently is to f840 (as hex) or 63808(decimal).

Reboot. Now it will stay on 60Hz whether you run on A/C or Battery.

Nice find. This will have to be done periodically since Win10 updates drivers periodically.

I noticed that when you change the original location, then reboot, the secondary locations you listed changes also.

Im on 2760P with 40hz refresh rate, is there any hardware effects if we change to 60hz?
