Just wondered if someone has encountered this problem and may know a fix it. Recently when I start my T2010 I get a pop up error message stating:

"digitizer.exe encountered a problem and needed to close"

The pen seems to still work OK in Notepad.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

no, what OS do you use and where's this digitizer.exe located?

I don't have the Fujitsu pen drivers installed, only the Wacom tablet drivers and I don't have such a digitizer.exe running on my XP system.

Maybe you should remove the pen drivers and install the Wacom Tablet drivers (they are better anyway)

Hi Frank, thanks for your reply. As I said above in boot up the error message states: "digitizer.exe encountered a problem and needed to close". If I click on the more info I get:
    Error signature
    szAppName: digitizer.exe
    szAppVer: 1.0.6.0
    szModName: digitizer.exe

The 2010 is XP and I loaded wacom pen driver ages ago. Under the human interface devices it shows Wacom HID Digitizer and Pen (5.1.2600) & Wacom Penabled Minidriver (2.8.0.1) and Virtual Hid Driver (2.8.0.0) all working well.

    Any thoughts?

I also use XP and use the Wacom drivers and I don't have such a digitizer.exe running.
Maybe it's a relict from the Fujitsu pen drivers? Have you removed them?

Make a windows search for digitizer.exe to locate the file. Maybe then we'll know more.
If you can't find such a file, you could open regedit and search the registry for digitizer.exe.

There is digitizer.exe running in my tablet(OS is XP) also but I do not encounter your problem so far. I installed the latest Wacom Drivers too. However, I cannot find the "digitizer.exe" string in the registry. This file is located in your Windows directory's system32 folder, e.g. "C:\Windows\system32". The version is also 1.0.6.0.

Anyway, as Frank said, you can try to remove all drivers about the "Pen" first and install back the Wacom Driver.

Cheers for your help. Frank, could you please let me know what versions you have for:
    Wacom HID Digitizer and Pen
    Wacom Penabled Minidriver
    Virtual Hid Driver

Thanks for your time and assistance.

    Wacom HID Digitizer: 5.1.2600.2180
    Wacom HID Pen: 5.1.2600.2180
    Wacom Penabled Minidriver: 2.8.0.1
    Wacom Virtual HID driver: 2.8.0.0

PS: I don't have such a digitizer.exe on my hard disk. Have you deinstalled the Fujitsu Pen drivers?

Thanks Frank. So you have the same wacom's as me. But I think you may be right about the Fujitsu pen drivers. Last question (I hope). To remove that do I just remove "Fujitsu Pen Sevice" from the add/remove list or should I unistall the Wacom drivers first and then reinstall them? Interestingly, I looked for then in the add/remove list and couldn't find them. Cheers again for your assistance.

Open Add/Remove, search for "Pen Tablet" (this is the Wacom driver) and remove it, if it's there. Then search for the "Fujitsu Pen Service" and remove it, too.
Then reboot and install the Wacom Tablet drivers.
