Wow, finally a Dell rep made his way to this forum who really has a clue! I am impressed!

I am just wondering why they even dared to release the predecessor with one...we will probably never know, besides this wise man can tell us!

Do tell more...I'm not familiar with NFC. So, I'm interested in how that works with CAC and smart cards. How do you set that up?

That is the German store. LTE is not available in the states yet.

As for the price even though it is core m 400-500 should be the going price for just the base model and go up from there.

NFC is near field communication. Which CAC cards have. You can open doors and similar tasks using it this way. The gold Chip on the card is the digital scan for when you insert it in a reader for your certificates and such. I'm not sure if NFC will allow the security certificates to be transmitted that way.

Is it me or battery life is low ?

Received my 7140 two days ago and can't manage to have more than 4h/4h30 of battery life without heavy use (only video streaming with wifi on and low brightness), not better than my laptop with an i7, really disappointing.

How much autonomy do you get with your tablets ?

Yeah, for some reason it seems foreign markets get lucky with the LTE variants and the US gets screwed.

The problem is that we don't know when the US LTE version will be released, or if it ever will. Like the example I gave in another thread, the US Venue 8 Pro was supposed to have LTE "in the near future"... in Novermber 2013:
I know for sure that there was an LTE version available in January of 2014 in the UK, but its now February 2015... and there's still no US LTE Venue 8 Pro.

I actually think that it's likely there will eventually be a 7140 with LTE released in the US, since the previous generation (7130/7139) had it...

But I have no idea when, and I wasn't willing to wait forever.
