A Best Buy exclusive (according to them): I've never been an Inspiron fan until tonight - see that slot in the hinge - a PEN STORAGE TRAY built into th hinge. Not as thin and small as the XPS 9380, but it is barely thick enough for a USB-A slot. 4k UHD, i7, 16gb RAM, 512gb SSD, one USB-C 3.1 and mSDXC slot. UNFORTUNATELY no Thunderbolt 3 - almost perfection for $1399!

AND there is a 15.6" version as well which includes a Nvidia MX250, number keypad, second USB-A, and HDMI for $1499!

A SLOT FOR THE PEN IN THE HINGE FOLKS - BRILLIANT!

Link to the BestBuy page for the 15.6" version:

I'd like to know more about the Active Pen here, and see some tests. I've not tried this tech in a while, and my last few Dell experiences with pens have left me skeptical.

But the storage system does look nice. Magnetic, too, so it won't slip out when you open it up.

I have this Dejavu feeling as well....I know someone posted something about a similar (if not this exact model) pen storage method. Frankly I think it’s the perfect compromise between having a silo and offering a full size pen.

And given how the Yoga style has seemingly taken more marketshare over detachable 2-in1’s (like the Surface Pro)....it’s seems like a practical solution in the long term....At least until devices get too thin it’s no longer practical. But even then....that could revitalize EMR in the 2-in-1 market....since the lack of needing a in-pen power source would give EMR the benefit on being able to create thinner pens.

Debuted at CES, which I affectionately called the "pen cubby". :)

Very nifty little mod, which even easy access to the pen when folded back in slate mode:

    It's ok, I have an "overly-long memory" right? ;)

So, we should be expecting the next Surface devices to come with compartments/semi silos for the pen, right?

That's is one of the slickest pen storage solutions I've seen. Very clever
In some ways even better than a silo if we are taking larger hybrid device.

So between this and the new OLED Spectre x360, which has your guys' fancy?

    Basically a decision between:
    • Wacom AES vs N-Trig
    • IPS vs OLED
    • USB 3.1 (Gen 1) vs TB3
    • MX250 vs MX150
    • 512GB vs 1TB
    and
Another oddity about the price is Dell's own website lists this at $1999. (So they would rather you buy 3rd-party than direct?)

Can't say I'm a fan of the price hike, but still think the HP is more compelling (just barely) though I still do adore the "cubby".
