Copy Recovery Partition to External Drive?

    I figured if I had to I could use the backup to restore the partition to the way it came in the event I ever lost the restore discs. I guess maybe that would never of worked.

    Anyway. As a simple last resort I revealed hidden protected files and manually copied the recovery files to an external HDD. I'm sure that will never work, but I had the space. Then I made a 2nd set of recover discs, using the known trick to get around the limit of one.

    Then I deleted the partition, followed by shrinking the Vista Partition and making a new volume out those.

    I installed Windows 7 and it's running right now, only 32 processes, no more 82 upon startup. Haven't tested a restart to see the dual boot screen, sure it's there. I'll post more of that experience in the proper thread.
