I am doing this now, and I can't say I'm using the 10 partition much, even though I love the UI. All my applications (especially registered/paid applications) are installed on my 8.1 partition... So if I want to do anything remotely productive, I really need to be on 8.1. So far, Windows 10 seems to be my go to for... web browsing?

Free upgrade from Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows Phone 8.1 for the first year.

Great news for many here: 8" tablets continue to have desktop available if you want them to.

I obviously haven't used it yet... but swipe in from right for action center (akin to Windows Phone) seems far less powerful to me than having the charms bar. I mean, I like the notifications there, but in my experience on WP8.1, I'd rather the charms (Device and Share I use a million times a day for a variety of different things).

It was a little unclear what'll happen to the 7" tablets currently on the market, but at least from now forward, anything that is smaller than 8" will apparently be running the Windows Phone -type SKU (whatever they end up calling that).
