Chrome Unboxed also reporting the Pro model will be priced at $549, +$100 over the Plus.

Robby does a good job with that website. He skims the repositories regularly for clues on upcoming ChromeOS devices, gives readers an idea of what to anticipate pre-release. Interesting at the moment with a number of new models forthcoming.

They probably mean "it's not identical to the Galaxy Note 7 S-Pen." If it's a Wacom EMR toothpick pen sold by Samsung, it's an S-Pen.

I am kinda hoping that it is possible to use a "normal" s_pen on the device to have access to the side button. Maybe the Wacom Bamboo Smart or Dell Canvas Pen.

Only Samsung knows why they add Wacom pen for Chromebooks and crappy bluetooth pen for their Windows 2-in-1. Also micro-Sd slot on this one but none on Galaxy TabPro S.
Basically, why is there no windows version of this?

Just guessing but perhaps it is to do with Wacom licence? Why did Wacom abandon Android so quickly on the CCH?

Probably has more to do with fiefdoms, Android devices and Windows devices are run separately and independently.

Twitter is to communications as haiku is to literature.
