Finding a case for the vivotab note 8 is pretty hard aside from online. I went searching at few retail stores like walmart, target, frys electronics.
But those stores, all they carry is covers for the ipad/ipad mini/galaxy 10.1/galaxy 8/some over version of the galaxy.

Other covers were for 10 inch or 7 inch generic covers.

So finding an 8 inch cover is in my opinion pretty hard for this tablet. At least at the retail stores.
I guess I have to go to microsoft store to see if they sell the versa specifically for the vivotab note 8.

When I picked up my M80TA replacement a couple of weeks ago, they had none.

Just received shipment of this neoprene case:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BHUQ72C

It perfectly fits the note 8 inside a versasleeve (or possibly one of the alternate cases). It's exactly what I wanted: a double layer of protection with a side pocket big enough for accessories.

Be careful as this case comes in many sizes. The important spec: MAX INTERIOR DIAGONAL: 260mm (10.25in)

    Cheers,
    Doug

I have this case, though I got it through another eBay supplier from Asia somewhere. It's quite nice, it does indeed have no magnets, and fits my M80TA perfectly. It is a bit stiff and hard to unseat when placing in portrait view, but I expect that will improve with time. It's almost exactly like the case I have for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus, so I knew what to expect. All in all, very happy with it so far (two weeks in)

I bought one of those cases with the magnets. I thought it would be very simple, just take out a couple magnets with a razor. Easy.
Unfortunately, there were magnets all over the place, almost impossible to remove without tearing the thing to pieces. I felt like throwing it in the trash. After it was finished I still felt like throwing it in the trash. But fortunately I can cover up the butchery with tape.

    I need a new case.

Go down to the craft store and get a full sheet of sticky back felt.
Cut to fit the entire damaged area....
voila, you have a nice looking flat smooth flap
and no one will know you butchered it up digging out
    those poor, helpless magnets...

Here are some photos of the MOKO case
I purchased for my Dell, but it also works
    for the Asus.

    case_frt.jpg
There are no magnets except to hold the keyboard in.
The clips allow more for different sized tablets.
It also has a built in kick stand to prop up the tablet

    case_side.jpg
I broke one of the clips trying to force them over the corners of the Asus.
Do not do this....just clip them on the sides as in the photo.

    keybrd_side.jpg
The keyboard is bluetooth and works OK for short typing sessions.
It is virtually the same size as the Asus.
(I write, draw, sketch more thn I type on this computer.)

There is room for the pen to be stored in the middle,
but there is no elastic holder, you have to sew one in yourself.
I am too afraid my "rare as hens teeth" Cross pen will fall out
and get lost or 'aquired' if Strauss is nearby :)

    PS
These photos were taken before I sent my tablet back for repair.
As of today, it is still out for repair.
(I am wondering if that "cool bubbly texture"
on the back has anyhing to do with it taking so long....)

I found a case at office depot from Foray FORAY Pad Tablet Folio 6 x 8 12 Black by Office Depot

The first picture shows the front of the case with 2 exposed elastic pockets. The one on the left I'm using for a MiFi and business cards, while the one on the right I use for a MS Surface Pen.

    photo 1.jpg

This second picture shows the inside. The left side shows a white microfiber cloth that's been attached over the tablet inserts that came with the case. I took off the excess rubber, but attached this screen cleaner to keep it all clean and neat. Yes I used 4 super glue drops one in each corner to keep it nice. Works well.

On the right side (where the paper would normally go) I used 4 round circular Velcro dots to firmly secure the tablet. Works very well.

This third picture simply shows the back.

Yes I was charging the unit which is why the usb cable is attached.

    photo 3.jpg

The case is 20 bucks and the fasteners another 5 or 6. So for less than 30 bucks and a few minutes, this is a great carry around case. The built in strap secures it from the right side.

It nicely replaces a notebook to take meeting notes and provides more uses.

There was a problem viewing your attachments, forum error said it was invalid. However! Your first link worked. Thank you for posting the results,
I guess I am off to office depot to check out that case for the vivotab note 8.
