    Hello
I can' t access the bios menu on my HP elitebook 8560P. When I start the laptop and hit escape, i get the following menu:

    F1 system information
    F2 system diagnostic
    F3 initial intel cira
    F7 hp sparekey
    F9 boot device option
    F10 bios setup

When i hit F10 or F9, it takes me straight to the system diagnostics menu.

    F1 system information
    F2 start-up test
    F3 run-in test
    F4 hard drive test

Here, no matter what option i select, it will run self tests then the Express boot option will be displayed and there the only option available is to boot from the hard drive even though i have a bootable CD into the CD drive.
I thought maybe the bios was corrupted. I open the laptop and removed the Cmos battery, waited for over 5 minutes, then put it back in but that didn't help.
    Your suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks

Even I am facing the exact same issue with my 8560w. What's the solution?

    Hi,
    I finally fixed it !!!!! :)
I opened the laptop and unplugged the wire that links the Cmos battery to the motherboard, Then I waited for about 10 to 15 minutes. I plugged it back in, rebooted the laptop and I was able to access the Bios fine. I setup the bios to boot from the the CD drive first, then the Hard drive. After saving the settings, the laptop restarted and the CD drive kicked in. I was then able to install Windows 7 from the CD. I hope it works for you.
    Cheers
