    Hi,
I've used a digitizer tablet and understand that for a tablet pc with an active screen, a digitizer pen needed. For touchscreen only it was mentioned that screen needed to be actually touched - ok - and also couldn't erase with the end of the pen. But can one erase notes or drawings at all? Or just save and delete? Or does that depend on whether there is drawing or handwriting software that has a separate erase function?
Thanks very much for any help.

You should be able to use "edit", then "select" and finally "delete" depending on the application you are using.

With my HP TX1030ea running Vista, you can select an eraser tool in Journal, for example. I don't know about the XP support for tablet PCs, though.

Yes, it all depends on the software you are using.
In some you have to do as Barry mentions by using the menu's.
In others as Ian mentions, there will be a dedicated icon that you can click on which changes the function of the pen from being a writing object to an eraser object.
