Not affiliated with the seller; was doing my usual eBay sweep and came across a seller listing 20 12-cell main batteries for the Gateway E295 (which IIRC uses the same chassis as the C-14x series), at $40 a pop with free shipping. Figured others here would probably want to jump in on this too, given how long I've been looking for these and have been coming up dry.

Even if the power cells are fried, there are a number of battery-refresh houses able to do a 7200mAh cell-upgrade on the 12-cell units... at which point $40 is worth it to me just for the cell housing. :)

    (edit)
Also, apparently someone is selling off claimed new OEM 12-cell units, for $15 more. Of course I find this a few minutes after pulling the trigger on the first posting. :b

Let us know how much time you can get out of those batteries. I'm averaging about 4-5 on a 9 cell with minimal load and steered towards power saving.

Well what was supposed to be a 12 cell showed up today as an 8 cell. Hopefully just a mistake on the part of the shipper...i'll update when/if I actually get one.

I'd grab one if I didn't already use up all my funds just buying the E-295C to begin with.

My personal estimates show about two hours on an 8-cell with about 90% remaining capacity. This is by feel, though-hardly an accurate benchmark.

I get about 3 hours on my new 8 cell and 4 to 5 with the 6 cell modular added. I should be getting my 12 cell on Friday finally.....:)
